Deadlines
Application deadlines for GSAH (SINTA) membership are twice a year:

How can the doctorate be funded?
A good process of a PhD and especially the duration of the PhD are closely linked to the financing of the project. SINTA does not offer funding or jobs. However, there are four main options:
- Assistant position at an institute at the Phil.Hist Faculty or HKB
- Third-party funded position in a research project at a scientific institution
- Personal scholarship outside of the scientific institutions
- Employment in the non-academic professional world
Funding opportunities
For dissertation projects in the humanities and social sciences, there is the career funding instrument Doc.CH from the SNF. Further tips and tricks on funding are set out in the University of Bern's guide "Erfolgreich promovieren - Leitfaden für Doktorierende" (only in German):
