Sarah Schrimpf
Sarah Schrimpf is a visual artist and PhD candidate who is working with a large variety of material and media. She is a graduate from the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and holder of an MRes degree from the Royal College of Art in London. Her research revolves around questions such as what we perceive as humans but can not express. Sarah was a visiting student at the Ecole nationale supérieure Louis-Lumière in Paris, the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, the ESADMM in Marseille and the National Filmschool in Lodz. She was shortlisted for the Sony World Photography Awards and received the Sony Student Grant.

»Subtle Characters«
In my PhD project I am addressing the question of how designing artefacts, particularly typography, used in the therapy of young adults with selective mutism can help to create a safe space that builds confidence in self, language and expression.
