How Performance Persuades
Tuesday, 2022/10/04, 18:15
Performances of classical scores succeed not by being faithful to tradition, but by using the dynamics of sound to shape and change feeling-states from moment to moment. Topics include: the role of sensations and images in helping us imagine, make and respond to musical sound; the implications for what is ‘proper’ performance; how performance is policed; performer health; options for future creativity.
